The Niles Historical Society would like to welcome you to the

200th Anniversary (Bi-Centennial) of the State of Illinois

200 years ago, on December 3, 1818, Illinois became the 21st state in the Union.
Since then, the people of Illinois have banded together to transform this land
into a remarkable place of awe-inspiring beauty, accomplishment, and culture.
As we recognize our 200th year of statehood, now’s the perfect time to pay tribute to the
amazing people, places, and things that are being BORN, BUILT & GROWN
in Illinois every single day.
Illinois Bicentennial is a year-long celebration that will honor the many ways
that Illinois has influenced American history, achievement, culture, innovation, and more.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the celebration by visiting
and using the hashtag #IllinoisProud.

The Niles Historical Society's theme for Programs and Events
will revolve around our 200th Anniversary.
