Niles Police Department

Five Elements of Policing Model

Chief

The Police Department’s Five Elements of Policing Model will define the future of this agency.

Five Elements of Policing:

  • Accountability
  • Transparency
  • Technology and Communications
  • Community Partnerships and Engagement
  • Crime Prevention

Despite the challenges in our society and a change in policing, the Niles Police Department continues to maintain the highest quality police services by providing hardworking, dedicated and loyal men and women who take great pride in providing the best services possible to the community. I am often amazed at the professionalism and quality of work put forth by Niles Police Department personnel. Doing more with less has been the norm in “police work”, nonetheless Niles Police Department staff members have rose to the demands; met and confronted challenges head on and, in doing so, have achieved remarkable results. I am very proud of them and the department they represent.

This model is the “blueprint” of the department’s focus on exemplary policing. It is because of our meticulous planning process and the strong desire to achieve the set objectives as a department, I am very confident we will respectfully police with compassion, honor and integrity.

"There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long range risks and costs of comfortable inaction."
- John F. Kennedy
