What are the tournament rules?
1. Each team will consist of 6 student players divided by grade (6th grade and 7th/8th grade combined teams).
2. Each team will play a best of 5 series with each game lasting 2 minutes. The last 30 seconds of every game the playing area will shrink. The first team to 3 wins the series and moves on to the next round. The losing team is out of the tourney.
3. Every game will have 4 referees. They have the final say on all judgement calls. If a player
argues with a ref, they will be automatically disqualified for the remainder of that series.
It is at the NTC staff and referee's discretion if the player will be allowed to participate for
the remainder of the games. The NTC staff reserves the right to disqualify a player for the
remainder of the tourney and ask them to leave the facility.
4. If time expires during a game, both teams will bring everyone in for a 20 second
sudden-death overtime. At the end of the 20 seconds, the team with the most players left
wins the game. If a tie still remains, the game will be decided by captains playing
Rock-Paper-Scissors (best out of 3).
5. Every player on the 1st place 6th grade team and 1st place 7th/8th combined team will be
awarded a tournament trophy.
6. An MVP medal will be awarded to one 6th grade and one 7th/8th grade player that
demonstrated sportsmanship and skill during their games.
