The National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event striving to improve Police-Community relations. It is held on the first Tuesday in August. Niles 1st participated in the NNO in 2002 and has participated every year since.

The Niles Police Department always strives to improve upon the previous years events by adding activities that highlight community involvement as well as promote a public safety message.
