About Family Services
Niles Family Services is the social services division of the Human Services Department in Niles. It was established in 1967 with the intention of providing residents and the community with support to address human service needs. Family Services is committed to helping people contend with difficulties, both personal and in the community, and work toward healthy resolutions and positive healing. The goal of Niles Family Services is to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Niles.
Niles Family Services provides support to people of all ages who live in the Village of Niles. Our services are for youth, families, adults, and older adults. We provide services in the office, but also in various settings within the community, including schools, and home-based services if needed. All are welcome!
The Niles Family Services staff is headed by Darren Brown, director, and is made up of professional, licensed social workers. The staff is highly trained and skilled in working with the community including the residents, schools, businesses, and the police and fire departments. Niles Family Services staff are dedicated to working with residents to improve their quality of life and make important changes through case management, crisis care, and individual, couple, family and group counseling services.
There is a fee for services based on each family's income and size, but no family or individual will be turned away for services due to an inability to pay. We are now accepting Medicare. Health insurance will have to be pre-qualified.
In order to talk with a counselor, call Niles Family Services during office hours. We will help you determine the services that would be beneficial to a particular problem. We are here to answer any questions you may have, make an appointment, or provide information and referrals. All conversations and interviews are completely confidential.
