Teen Center Staffing Changes
Teen Center staff, Ann Puleo and Nick Pizzo, will be leaving their positions in mid-August. Mark is diligently working to find new staff who will be just as awesome as Nick and Ann. Ann’s last day will be Friday, August 11 and Nick’s last day will be Friday, August 18. Ann is beginning her masters in Social Work program at Northeastern University. The class times conflict with the hours of the teen center. However, she will be working as a daytime receptionist with Niles Family Services. Nick will be beginning his student teaching assignment in Physical Education at a public school in Highland Park.
Mark- expecting baby #2 soon.
Mark and his wife Colleen are expecting their 2nd child, a little baby girl in the next week or two. Colleen’s due date is Thurs. July 20. Expect that Mark will be out of the office from approximately Thursday July 20 through Friday, July 28. He will send a birth announcement when little girl arrives. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
New Furniture and Equipment
The teen center recently made lots of upgrades including 21 new couches in the TV lounge, a new dome hockey table to replace the foosball, painted the restaurant benches and tables, installed 6 new tables in the computer lab (gaining about 3 feet of space to move around the room). This is the first new furniture that we have been able to purchase. We are replacing lots of donated furniture and equipment, some of which was over 20 years old and showing heavy wear. See the attachment for before and after pictures.
