[ARCHIVED] Free Tax Assistance

FREE Tax Assistance

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide helps low and moderate income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older.  Volunteers are trained to assist in filing tax forms and certain schedules, including the Form 1040.  Taxpayers with complex returns, or in instances where the counselor feels they do not have adequate training or knowledge, will be advised to seek paid tax assistance.  Under the Volunteer Protection Act, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers must stay in the scope of the program and do those returns for which they have received training.

Beginning Tuesday, January 30, 2018, appointments can be scheduled for individuals with simple returns by calling the Tax Hot Line, 847-588-8440, between 9:00am and 2:00pm.   Appointments begin in mid-February and run through Tuesday, April 10.
