Agility. Speed. Strength. None of these qualities will be of any use in the highly-competitive world of Whirly Ball. Although it combines lacrosse, hockey and basketball with bumper cars, Whirly Ball has caused great athletes of every stripe to laugh and holler their way to a crushing defeat. If you choose to accept the challenge, you'll use hand-held scoops to propel whiffle balls at your scoring target. In a team of five, and with the help of a professional referee, you'll have a bang-up time trying to outscore the competition. We will be going to Whirly ball in Lombard! Village of Niles- Snow Shoveling Program
The Niles Senior Center has a Snow Shoveling program that is offered to seniors and/or disabled Niles residents and in need of assistance. We do our best to match the resident with an available volunteer within their neighborhood. Volunteers are asked to remove snow from public walkways and front sidewalks. After the conclusion of a 3” or greater snowfall, volunteers will visit their assigned home within 48 hours to remove snow.

This program is based solely on volunteer participation, if you are interested in becoming a volunteer or know of anyone who would like to volunteer for this important program, you can sign up through Volgistics on the VON website.

I have attached the Show Shoveling brochure if there is anyone you know that could use this service, or might want to volunteer their time this winter season. Please contact Jaymi Blickhahn at the Niles Senior Center should you have any questions.
