[ARCHIVED] Niles Teen Center- Week of Sept. 17

Please find below information on events and activities taking place at or with the Niles Teen Center in the next couple of weeks.



Game Tournament- Wed. Sept. 19- Super Smash Bros.- 4:30-5:30 pm
Most Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m., the Teen Center staff will set up tournaments for video games and table games like Foosball, Air Hockey, Darts, NBA2K16 or Call of Duty 3. Prizes may be awarded to winners.

Boys Check-In- Thurs. Sept 20- 4:15-5:00 pm

Spend a little time chatting with Darren Brown or play a game with him.

TC Staff- Jamie Kowalczyk-  moving on
Teen Center staff member Jamie Kowalczyk has accepted a full time position with the Boy Scouts of America  and will be moving to suburban Indianapolis.  Jamie’s last day will be Wed. Sept. 26.


Thurs. Sept. 27- Teen Speaker Series- Yoga Demonstration- 5:00-6:00 pm

All Teen Center members are invited to attend these educational programs by speakers from the local community.

Thursday, September 27 - 5:00-6:00 p.m. – Yoga Demonstration

Learn about the benefits of Yoga and practice positions with a certified instructor from the Niles Family Fitness Center.

Craft Project- Tues. Sept. 25- Glitter Slime- 4:00-5:00 pm

Join Maddie in making SLIME with GLITTER!!! Soooo Much Fun


CLOSED Friday, Sept. 28- Due to inadequate staffing

Wed. Sept. 26- Jamie Going Away Party- 5:00 pm
We will be saying good-bye to Jamie with a Pizza Party and soda as she moves on to a full time job in Indianapolis.


Great America Fright Fest - Columbus Day (No School)
Deadline Wed. Sept. 26- $50
Travel to Six Flags Great America, which this fall will feature monster roller coasters and scary creatures!  Make sure to bring extra money for food and souvenirs.  This trip may depart from a location other than the Niles Teen Center.  Trip offered with the Park Ridge Park District.
Date: Monday, October 8
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Min/Max: 4/8
Cost: $50 for ticket, transportation, supervision

$20 for season pass holders, transportation and supervision

Fright Night- Haunted House Undertaking
Deadline Wed. Oct. 3- $40

Get ready for a haunted house tour that will scare even the bravest of teens! Hop on the mini-bus as we chauffer you to 3 of the area’s best haunted attractions. Our trip will begin at Skokie’s Scream Scene, then off to St. Thecla’s Hair Razor Haunted Scenes and finally to St. Pascal’s ‘The Catacombs’ Haunted House - all in one night! We will stop for dinner at a local restaurant on our tour, so be sure to bring a little extra money for dinner or a snack. Price includes VIP Triple Fright Ticket admission at all 3 houses (a $50 value on its own) and a fast pass at each location - no waiting in those long lines! Transportation and supervision are included as well. This trip may depart from a location other than the Niles Teen Center.  Trip offered with the Park Ridge Park District.

Dungeons & Dragons Free Play-Saturday, September 22, 1:00-4:00 pm
Dive into the story-building world of Dungeons & Dragons in this monthly gaming meet-up. Bring a character you've already created, or play one provided by our local Dungeon Master.

Snapchat Lens Studio- Saturday, October 6, 1:30pm-3:00pm-Grades 7-12

Use Snapchat’s Lens Studio to create your own augmented reality experiences, like the Face and World Lenses used in Snapchat. Combine creativity, design, and coding in your very own lens. You can even submit your lens to Snapchat to win prizes, gear, and recognition.

Go to  Click Online Registration (left side of page)

Click Login (top right of page)

Click forgot password

Type in the email you verified with the Teen Center

You will be sent an email with a link to reset your password.  Type your password, verify your password and click submit.

Click Login to access your account

Click on My Account

You are now able to enter all Family Account Information

With your online account, you will be able to register and pay online for events and activities like movie night and trips.  However, you will not be able to renew your membership.  Memberships must be renewed in person through the Teen Center office.

Policy and Procedure Manual
Teen Center staff recently developed a policy and procedure manual.  The information included is intended for teens and parents, as well as staff, explaining our standard procedures of operation and explaining behavior expectations and consequences for teen participants.
Parents, please review this document with your teen participant.  Thanks!

ID cards REQUIRED for TC Attendance
Remember, ALL Teens are REQUIRED to have and USE their teen center ID cards to CHECK-IN to the facility.  Any need for a reprinted ID will be $5 each.  If you don’t have your ID, you will create more work for Mark and he will have to manually check you in.  The new MaxGalaxy software does not allow members to bypass the ID scanner, therefore ALL TEENS MUST USE THEIR ID CARDS TO CHECK-IN.  Thanks!
