Game Works Trip (No School- MLK Day)- Deadline Tues. Jan. 8- $40
We currently have 1 teen paid and 2 other teens interested. We hope to know soon if this trip will run. If you are interested, please submit your form and money on Tuesday, January 8. If the trip cancels, I will inform parents and return the money.
Game Works offers a unique combination of food, fun and entertainment. So grab a friend and spend the day off with the Park Ridge Park District, as we head to Game Works for a fun filled day of gaming and good times. Fee includes two hours of game time, lunch, transportation, and supervision.

Game Tournament- Wed. Jan. 9- Brawlhalla- 4:30-6:00 pm
Most Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m., the Teen Center staff will set up tournaments for video games and table games like Foosball, Air Hockey, Darts, NBA2K16 or Call of Duty 3. Prizes may be awarded to winners.

Spend a little time chatting with Maria Escobar or play a game with her.
Friday, January 11- Bring a Friend Friday
On a selected Friday each month, if a current member brings a friend as a guest, both teens will receive a free soda and bag of chips. If the guest, purchases a membership, the current member and new member will receive a $5 gift certificate for a local store (like Subway or Gloria Jeans Coffee)
Friday, January 11- Teen “In-House” Movie Night- 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm- $4 each
Come to the Teen Center for Teen Movie Nights. Stop by or call to recommend a teen movie. All movies will be PG or PG-13. Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Fee goes toward additional supervision. No sign-up prior to event is necessary.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (PG-13- Action- 2 hours)- It’s not easy balancing dad obligations with superhero duties, but Scott Lang is doing his best. Called upon to team with the Wasp and help carry out a crucial new mission, he again dons with Ant-Man suit and gears up for battle. (Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena)
The House with a Clock in its Walls (PG- Family Sci-Fi- 1 hour 45 min)- Based on the beloved children’s classic book, the magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis, who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches. (Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, Owen Vaccaro)
Smallfoot (PG- Family Animation- 1 hour 30 min)- “Smallfoot” turns the Bigfoot legend upside down when a bright young Yeti finds something he thought didn’t exist- a human. News of this “smallfoot” brings him fame and a chance with the girl of his dreams. It also throws the simple Yeti community into an uproar over what else might be out there in the big world beyond their snowy village, in a rollicking story about friendship, courage and the joy of discovery. Rock Climbing at Vertical Endeavors (No School- President’s Day)
Deadline Thurs. Jan. 17- $40
Rock Climbing is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. Climb throughout the climate-controlled environment at Vertical Endeavors for a fun say off of school trip. Routes are available for all skill levels and offer a great workout, both physically and mentally. We will stop for lunch after our climbing experience; make sure to bring extra money for lunch.

Teen Speaker Series- Thursday, January 24- 5:00-6:00 pm
Wright-Way Animal Rescue
Wright-Way Rescue, a no-kill animal rescue, will discuss the importance of pet adoption and spaying and neutering pets. The organization will also discuss how to properly care for pets, as well as the responsibilities that come along with pet ownership. If you're interested in volunteering, you can learn how to help their lifesaving mission.

Pick up a log in the Teen Underground to join, and we’ll give you candy as a bonus! Complete the log and turn it in for a super sweet lanyard. You’ll also qualify for weekly Starbucks drawings, and a final drawing for Target. Complete multiple logs, as many as one a week, to earn multiple drawing entries as well as button flair for your lanyard.
Bullet Journal Crafting- Friday, January 4, 5-6 p.m.- Grades 7-12
Start your year off strong in the Teen Underground by creating your own bullet journal! All participants are free to customize their bullet journal pages as they see fit; blank journals and drawing materials will be provided, just come prepared to be creative!
Tweet Creatively- Friday, January 25, 4-5 p.m.- Grades 7-12
Join us in the Teen Underground to engage in creative exercises designed around the writing parameters on Twitter. We'll guide the writing exercises, share and constructively critique each other's work, and even demonstrate how to set up a Twitter account if you don't already have one.
Dungeons & Dragons Free Play- January 19, February 16, 1-4 p.m.-Grades 7-12
Dive into the story-building world of Dungeons & Dragons in this monthly gaming meet-up. Bring a character you've already created, or play one provided by our local Dungeon Master.

With your online account, you will be able to register and pay online for events and activities like movie night and trips. However, you will not be able to renew your membership. Memberships must be renewed in person through the Teen Center office.
Policy and Procedure Manual
Teen Center staff has developed a policy and procedure manual. The information included is intended for teens and parents, as well as staff, explaining our standard procedures of operation and explaining behavior expectations and consequences for teen participants.

ID cards REQUIRED for TC Attendance
Remember, ALL Teens are REQUIRED to have and USE their teen center ID cards to CHECK-IN to the facility. Any need for a reprinted ID will be $5 each. If you don’t have your ID, you will create more work for Mark and he will have to manually check you in. The new MaxGalaxy software does not allow members to bypass the ID scanner, therefore ALL TEENS MUST USE THEIR ID CARDS TO CHECK-IN. Thanks!
