Dear Niles Residents and Businesses,
Yesterday, Monday, February 28, 2022, the State of Illinois and Cook County lifted key Covid-related restrictions for most locations. Specifically, the State of Illinois has ended the requirement for masks to be worn indoors, and Cook County has ended the requirement for proof of vaccination at restaurants, entertainment venues, and other facilities. These changes apply throughout the Village of Niles as well.
Exceptions that still require masks at this time include health care settings, public transportation, and congregate care facilities. I ask that you respect these and any other exceptions, as well as your neighbors who choose to continue wearing a mask in public. More information about current policies is available on our website at www.vniles.com/covid19.
I appreciate the work everyone in Niles has done, and will continue to do, to ensure both the safety of your neighbors as well as the economic vitality of our community. As your Mayor, I remain committed to supporting our local businesses through these difficult times.
Please contact me or the Village Administration Department at 847-588-8010 or contactniles@vniles.com if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
George D. Alpogianis
Mayor, Village of Niles
