On Monday, May 30, 2022, the Niles Memorial VFW Post 3579 will be holding their annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 11:00 A.M. at the Niles Veteran’s Memorial Waterfall located at Touhy and Milwaukee Avenue. This ceremony respectfully honors all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to our country.
To accommodate a large crowd, reduce noise and ensure safety, the Village of Niles will be closing Milwaukee Avenue from Touhy Avenue to Harts Road on Monday, May 30 from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 noon. Touhy Avenue and Harts Road will remain open, and north and south bound traffic on Milwaukee Avenue will be rerouted to Franks Avenue. Street parking restrictions on Franks Avenue will be in place for the short duration of the street closure. Newark Avenue will also be closed at Milwaukee Avenue.
The Memorial Day Ceremony is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Parking to attend the ceremony will be available at the Niles Public Works facility (6849 W. Touhy Avenue) and adjacent school building parking lot.
