[ARCHIVED] Snow Efforts Update for 2/4/15

Public Service crews continue clean up from the aftermath of Sunday's blizzard and last night's snow. Salt crews worked late into the night to make sure the roads were drivable this morning.
Both water main breaks have been repaired (one on Milwaukee and one on Nordica).

Today's snow removal plan is below:

Root, Grand, Elizabeth and Prospect area – Public Services has six pieces of equipment in this area removing snow and salting streets and alleys. They will also be doing Oak and Grace and Clifton North of Ballard.

Chesterfield – A front end loader will be in this area again today clearing snow from parking areas.

Nordica – A backhoe will be clearing snow from parking areas again today.

A front end loader will continue to remove snow piles from intersections along Oakton Street. They will also clear a couple small dead-end alleys today.

Sidewalks will continue to be cleared.

A backhoe will be removing snow from the street parking areas on Washington, then Churchill and Lake.

A salt/plow truck will once again plow and salt the Washington alley, Lyons alley and other alleys throughout the village.

A salt/plow truck will be once again checking Courtland, Woodland, Willow, Reusch and Milwaukee by the White Eagle where a portion of the curb lane is blocked on Milwaukee.

The Public Services Department is hoping to start removing large piles of snow from Milwaukee Avenue tomorrow. This process will begin as soon as Public Services is done with the above areas.
