Please find below information on events and activities taking place at or with the Niles Teen Center in the next couple of weeks.
1) 8th Annual “Night-in-the-Mall” Lock-In Party- Deadline Thurs. June 11
Please make sure that your membership is current in order to participate. If you need to renew, see Mark for your paperwork.
Come to Golf Mill Shopping Center for our 8th Annual “Night-In-The-Mall” Lock-In Party. This will be one night you will never forget. Scheduled activities will include DJ & dancing by Pro-Mix, appetizers by Cici’s and beverages by Coca-Cola, a late-night movie, organized games and tournaments, Inflatable Football Toss & Alien Invasion by Jump Guy, late night sandwiches by Jimmy John’s, breakfast buffet, a “Free Expressions” art wall, photo selfie station and tons of prizes. This event will be supervised by staff and volunteers from the Niles Teen Center and sponsored by Golf Mill Shopping Center. Bring a sleeping bag and pillow if you’re thinking about sleeping.
“Night-In-The-Mall” is open to Teen Center members only. You must be a TC member by Thursday, June 11. You must turn in a Teen Trip form, a Golf Mill liability form and
money at the time of sign up to guarantee your spot. Space is limited to 100 teens; sign up now!!

Doors open at 10:15 - no entry after 10:45
No exit and no re-entry (that’s why it’s called a Lock-In and not a Lock-out, Silly!)

2) Open Discussion Group on Wednesday, June 10- 4:30-5:30 pm
Nicole Espinoza, LCSW of Niles Family Services, will be leading a group discussion for boys and girls to talk about anything that may be on their minds. Snacks will be provided

4) Summer Reading Kick-Off- Friday, June 12- 4:30-6:30 pm- Open House
All are invited to the Niles Public Library Summer Reading Kick Off at the Niles Teen Center on Friday, June 12 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Sign up for the Niles Public Library's Summer Reading Program: “Every Hero has a Story” and receive a coupon for Pin Stripes (while supplies last)! Tour the Teen Center to explore the great after-school options available to its members! Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

5) Golf Mill Shopping Center- Landscaping and Pavement Repairs
Tues.May 26 through Thurs. June 11
We are very excited to inform you that Golf Mill will be making significant repairs to parking lots and sidewalks in the coming weeks. They are taking out dead trees and installing replacements. They will be planting flowers and installing large flower pots by all of the entrances. They will also be installing a butterfly garden outside, near the food court. The mall will be making concrete repairs in the drive lanes near Shop N Save and JCPenny and sidewalks. They will also be resurfacing the parking lots at Kohls and Target. Most of the pavement and concrete repairs will occur between Tuesday May 26 through Thursday June 11. Please be aware that this work will be going on. However, the work should not obstruct with regular drop-offs and pick ups for the Teen Center.
6) National Day Calendar.
As a Christmas Gift, Mark received a National Day Calendar from his brother-in-law who is a rather unconventional thinker. This calendar does not list the any national, local or state holidays. But instead it is a calendar of fun and random holidays like “Hug a Plumber Day” and “Ice Cream Day”. In the spirit of fun, Mark will be providing these “holidays” each week as random and fun facts for teens and parents to enjoy and potentially use in their social media posts.
