The Niles Police Department is proud to announce the Graduation of Officer Mark Montgomery from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at the College of Dupage. Officer Montgomery completed 12 weeks of Law Enforcement Training required by the Illinois Law Enforcement Standards and Training Board this culminated in their graduation on March 30, 2015 at the College of Dupage.
Officer Montgomery now enters the next phase of his law enforcement training and will undergo fourteen (14) weeks of Field Training. During those fourteen weeks he will be supervised by a senior police officer, called a Field Training Officer (FTO) who is specially trained in mentoring and teaching the newly certified officer. Once he has completed the field training program, Officer Montgomery will remain as a probationary Police Officer for the remainder of two years, which started from the date he was hired.
